![]() ![]() The Wildcats have earned the Big Sky’s automatic bid to the playoffs via tiebreaker, as they captured the conference championship for the second consecutive season. It’s the first conference championship for second-year head coach Dan Hawkins. UC Davis opened league play on a six-game win streak, before getting tripped up last week, but fighting back to close out the season with a W and a school-record eight league wins. The Aggies earned the hardware for the first time in school history. It’s also the first championship for head coach Aaron Best, who is in his second season. The crown is the 10 thin school history and the first since 2016 for Eastern Washington. ![]() Eastern Washington’s lone loss in Big Sky play came in the fourth game of league play, and have since gone on a four-game win streak. The Eagles were the first team to clinch at least a share of the title, as they took down Portland State on Friday night. OGDEN, Utah (November 17, 2018) –It was a competitive season for the Big Sky in 2018, and as the final games of the regular season took place today, it was Eastern Washington, UC Davis and Weber State that were named co-Big Sky Champions.
